Dr. Laura Motschenbacher

DVM, DACVIM

Dr. Laura Motschenbacher, DVM, DACVIM (Small Animal Internal Medicine), is an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine in the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. She completed her DVM at the University of Minnesota in 2015, followed by a rotating internship at BluePearl Veterinary Partners of Chicago and a residency in small animal internal medicine at the University of Minnesota Veterinary Medical Center, where she has remained on faculty since 2019. Dr. Motschenbacher's clinical interests center on nephrology/urology and gastroenterology — including urolithiasis management, protein-losing nephropathies, pancreatitis, and chronic enteropathies — alongside endocrinology, infectious disease, and interventional endoscopy. She has published peer-reviewed research on blastomycosis outcomes, canine renal lymphoma diagnosis, and gallbladder mucocele, and serves on the ACVIM Maintenance of Credentials Committee. She has received grant funding from the Comparative Gastroenterology Society and Purina, and was awarded the Resident Award for Excellence in Clinical Teaching in 2018.
