KENTUCKY VETERINARIANS · LATE RENEWAL OPEN THROUGH NOVEMBER 30, 2026

Controlled Substances, Antimicrobial Stewardship, and the rest of Kentucky’s 15 pre-recorded hours, on demand

Kentucky requires 30 CE hours per two-year period: at least 15 live, up to 15 pre-recorded, and at least 2 in pharmacy or controlled substances, antimicrobials, or veterinary law. One $180 enrollment covers the pre-recorded half and the required topic, with a RACE-numbered certificate the moment you pass each quiz.

The 2024–2026 period closed September 30. Kentucky accepts hours earned through November 30 for late renewal, with a late fee ($300 for veterinarians). If you renewed on time, your 2026–2028 period began October 1.

Questions

Do on-demand hours count toward my Kentucky renewal?

Yes. Kentucky counts up to 15 of your 30 hours from pre-recorded online programs and accepts RACE-approved programs. Every course here is RACE-approved for on-demand delivery.

Do they count toward the 15 live hours?

No. Live hours must be in person or live online in real time. Vet On It’s live webinars qualify; the next is Feline Ophthalmology on Friday, October 9 at 1:00 PM CT.

Which course covers the required 2 hours?

Essential Controlled Substances (2 hours) covers it alone. Antimicrobial Stewardship (1 hour) and Compounding Guidance (2 hours, pharmacy) also fall under the required topics.

Can I use the rest of the library in my next period?

Yes. A course counts in the period you complete it, and once only. Courses stay in your library, and Kentucky again counts up to 15 pre-recorded hours in 2026–2028.

How long does each course take?

Each course runs its listed CE hours of lecture, plus a short quiz.
